Sitz Bath For Postpartum

I absolutely love this Sitz Bath for Postpartum recipe, it was a godsend after my first birth. It is so incredibly soothing and relaxing, and has some wonderfully healing herbs and essential oils added for a calming and restorative postpartum soak.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup dried witch hazel leaf (if you can’t find it dried, just add 2-3 tablespoons liquid witch hazel to the bath alongside the Sitz Salts blend)
  • 1/2 cup dried calendula flowers
  • 1/2 cup dried chamomile flowers
  • 1/4 cup dried arnica flowers
  • 1/4 cup dried lavender flowers
  • 1/2 cup Epsom salts or quality sea salt
  • 1/2 cup magnesium bath flakes (magnesium chloride)
  • 10 drops quality Lavender Essential Oil – I use doTerra
  • 6 drops quality Chamomile Essential Oil – I use doTerra
  • 6 drops quality Rose Essential Oil – I use doTerra

Method:

  • Mix all ingredients well in a large stainless steel bowl
  • Transfer even amounts to sealed glass jars to store
  • Add 2-4 scoops of Sitz Bath salts to a warm bath and soak for as much time as you an steal away for yourself 💕
